]]>My uncle Bill's first car, a 1941 Chevy, has been in the family for half a century. It's spent the last half of that sitting in the shed behind his parents' garage, providing shelter and warmth for generations of raccoons, woodchucks, and other creatures. Rumor has it that its days are now numbered, so I wanted to capture some of its character before it leaves home for the last time.

]]>This red fox frequents the pasture behind my grandma's house. He only emerged from the woods for a moment this morning, posed for a single shot, and then disappeared.

This image is sized at 2:1 (width:height). When ordering, choose a print size with the width you want which is no more than twice as wide as it is tall. The unused vertical space on the print can be trimmed off or hidden with a mat during framing.

I currently have one custom framed, 36x18" copy of this print available for sale. It looks magnificent at that size! Contact me for details.

]]>I got the opportunity to photograph my twin great-nephews when they were just five days old. Each of these shots was taken through an Olympus F.Zuiko 50/1.8 lens (c.1980) that was originally owned by the twins' great-grandfather.

This collection of some of the better shots was compiled for family members. It was originally intended as a 16x20" print, but could easily handle 24x30" or larger if you had the wall space. Beware that printing it on any shape other than a 4:5 ratio (like 8x10", 16x20", or 24x30") will result in either cutting off part of the image or having white bars on either side of the print.

]]>This cabinet was built for an elementary school art room. It is made from birch and luan (mahogany) plywood, two materials which complement each other quite well visually. Because of its size, it had to be photographed in the garage where it was built prior to delivering it.

]]>One of five rocket cones on a life-size model of a Saturn V rocket (the ones that propelled the Apollo program to the moon) standing outside the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. This is a pretty cool museum for anybody who enjoys space. There are two Saturn V's at this place: the mock up pictured here outside the front entrance, and a real one lying on its side inside a building. They're bloody huge. The portion you see here is probably 8-10 feet tall.

]]>I took my 8-year-old daughter, who loves both animals and photography, with me to watch the Sandhill Crane migration this year. 500,000 4-foot-tall birds stop in central Nebraska for six weeks each year en route from Mexico to Siberia. They spend their days foraging for food in cornfields near the river, but at night, they seek shelter from animals on the wide, clear sandbars of the Platte River. It's quite a sight to see 10,000 squawking birds in one spot. Better yet, they all land and take off at roughly the same time each sunset and sunrise. It's only a two hour drive from our house, so we made it into a 24 hour camping trip. My daughter captured this shot from an old railroad (now hike+bike) bridge in Ft. Kearney State Rec Area.

This shot won third place at the 2010 Nebraska State Fair photography competition.

]]>For some reason, my son insisted on pulling his diaper half way down that evening. I'd pull it up, and he'd immediately pull it back down and run around the yard. I'm sure he'll regret that in 15 years. The Japanese magazine World Joint Club used this shot on the cover of their December 2009 (vol 46) issue to promote an article about unusual toilets around the world. It was my son's first cover shoot!
